Dance in the snow

My dad taught me to ski when I was 5 at Mt. Wawasee. Since then, skiing has become one of my favorite things to do. I love the adventure, the exilerating feeling of floating down on fresh powder, and the amazing views and beauty I see from the mountains. I love starting down off the steep runs. I still don't understand how I don't mind it because I am usually scared of heights.

Since we've been traveling, certain music we've listened to has become part of specific places and memories. In Denver, there's a local band called Crash Kings. To celebrate our birthdays we saw them in concert back in December at the Bluebird, a venue down the street. They were awesome. And whenever we go skiing we'll listen to them on the way.

Here's part of the lyrics to their song "come away"

32 degrees on a winter's day
think about it for a second
and feel the cool, cool breeze on your neck and then
think about it for a second
if there ever was a day that you should get away
I feel it in my bones I think today's the day
and you can't back down
take the chance to leave behind
a single dance in the snow
between the trees
you will know the sound of nothing

come away on this winter's day
we're gonna ride again, whoa
and buckle in get you suited up
it's time to fly

  1. hey, that is a good attitude to have and just fine. Don't worry about us as parents, we naturally of course are interested in what you are up to but support you through it all regardless. This is Dad posting on Dianes acct.
